ABOUT

Raha Foundation is a non-profit and mental health organization based in Northern California. Raha focuses on mental health awareness and advocacy, mainly within the Iranian-american communities.

Design Process

Original Design

The original design was a single webpage with a lengthy list of resource links.

The primary goal of the redesign was to create a more comprehensive yet straightforward digital space that could accommodate many links under various themes.

Research & Synthesis

Before designing anything, it was important to gain a better understanding of common UX practices related to designing an information hierarchy and resource page. Research helped me identify the main design trends to learn from and pitfalls to avoid.

Wireframes

I created rough wireframes to visualize different structures for the elements on the resource landing page and the category-based page, which was a new feature we agreed to add during research and ideation. This allowed me to explore options, receive feedback, incorporate it quickly, and decide on the best layout for the page.

Prototypes

Once the fundamental architecture of the page was established, I created a range of high-fidelity prototypes, testing out various visual elements, layouts, and colors.

Iconography

For the final product, I designed custom icons for the different categories on the page. I drew inspiration from the placeholder icons used in the prototypes and utilized Figma and Adobe Illustrator to create the final icons.

Final Product

LANDING PAGE

Mockups of the final redesign, including a last-minute disclaimer. Implementing the design was tricky due to the software the foundation uses, but I managed to stay true to the design despite the technical limitations.

CATEGORY PAGE

Desktop and mobile renders of the final category-based pages. I kept the layout simple and straightforward, mainly employing iconography and text hierarchy to dictate the user experience.
